The Gallery of Central Australia highlights exhibitions by emerging artists. The artist is the local Anangu people and from Indigenous communities across the Central and Western Desert regions. Through their artwork, these talented artists share their stories and culture, offering visitors an opportunity to gain experience and connect with one of the world’s oldest living cultures.
Open daily from 9am to 5pm, the Gallery is located in Yulara, opposite the Desert Gardens Hotel.

Artist-in-residence
The artist-in-residence program gives visitors a chance to watch the talented local artists work on their pieces. It is a unique opportunity to ask questions, engage in cultural discussions, and gain a deeper understanding of the art and the stories behind it.
If you are staying in the area for a couple of days, ask about the upcoming artists-in-residence so you can plan your visit accordingly. It is a meaningful way to immerse yourself in the rich heritage of the oldest living culture and be inspired by their artworks.

Daily tours
Join a free daily tour at 10:30am to gain insights into the gallery’s exhibits and learn more about the artists and their stories. For a more personalised experience, private tours are available daily at 9:30am, 2pm, and 3pm. These guided sessions run for about 30 minutes and offer a more in-depth exploration of the gallery.
