Uluru Sunset Tour Itinerary
From breathtaking scenery to fascinating ancient tales, Uluru is one of the most awe-inspiring sights you can experience anywhere in Australia. Our Uluru Sunset Tour gives you the chance to explore the renowned Red Centre at its most beautiful as we catch the last light before it fades beyond this massive monolithic rock formation.
We start this tour by picking you up from the Ayers Rock Resort and transporting you straight to the sunset viewing area at the Uluru–Kata Tjuta National Park, which offers you the best possible view across the vast panoramas. Led by a professional guide, you’ll hear all about the enthralling stories that have been told in these parts for millions of years as the towering rock landmark of Uluru can be seen in the distance. At 348-metres tall, Uluru provides a striking backdrop as we rest to enjoy a glass of sparkling wine and a choice of snacks. As the light starts to disappear, the sky comes alive with purples, oranges and reds that drench Uluru and the desert in vibrant colour.
It might be remote, but the centre of Australia still attracts thousands of visitors each year. Dating back 500 million years, this soaring formation has become one of the most iconic images of Australians for a reason. Despite its obvious beauty, photos often don’t do it justice with its majestic qualities really needing to be experienced in person. Holding vital spiritual and cultural significance to the local Anangu people, your guide will be sure to recount many of the captivating stories that date back to the so-called Dreamtime period.
Once you’ve had plenty of time to photograph this giant marvel and the sky has gone dark for the evening, we’ll climb back aboard our coach and quickly return you to the Ayers Rock Resort. Perhaps the best way to experience this world- famous destination, if you want to take your journey to the next level, consider adding the optional BBQ Dinner to complete this once-in-a-lifetime adventure.
