Uluru Sunset and Sacred Sites from the Rock Itinerary
Our Kata Tjuta and Uluru Sunset Ayers Rock Tours give you the chance to experience some of Australia’s most iconic landmarks in the most magical way.
To start with, we’ll head straight to the base of Uluru, where your experienced guide will give you a tour of the major sights and share information about the famous landmark’s geology and fascinating history. As well as learn about the Aboriginal Stories that span back thousands of years, you’ll get to see Uluru from several unique perspectives.
Afterwards, we’ll head on to the Kuniya Walk where the guide will show you the way to the beautiful Mutitjulu Waterhole. At one point in time, the waterhole was the main source of water for the Aboriginal people that lived in the area, so you’ll get to discover some colourful rock paintings that have been etched around the region.
Then it’s time to check out the Cultural Centre, which is home to an eclectic selection of original ceramics, woodwork, and paintings that reveal stories and histories from the surrounding regions. Some of the artworks date back hundreds of years, providing an insightful look back at the rich heritage of Uluru and Kata Tjuta. Here, there will also be time for you to pick a souvenir up as a memory of your trip.
As the sun begins to descend, we’ll head to the Uluru Sunset Viewing area, one of the most picturesque spots on our Ayers Rock Tours. On the way, you might be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of a camel or two making its way across the park, and you’ll get to soak in the rugged landscape with its vibrant tufts of greenery. Once at the viewing point, we’ll set you up with a selection of local Australian wines and nibbles while you kick back and relax as the scenery starts to glow in the sunset. Feel free to sit and marvel at the views or take a stroll to find a peaceful spot to enjoy it from.
While the sun’s setting, you’ll be party to the incredible colour changes Uluru goes through. The huge monolith turns red, orange, and gold, oozing a majestic presence for which it is so famous for.
When the sun has set and Uluru is settling in for the night, we’ll hop aboard the coach and say goodbye to this stunning region. As we go, you’ll get to experience the clear skies and the twinkling stars that perch above the incredible formations of the area.
