4 Day Ayers Rock & Red Centre Premium Camping Tour Itinerary

Experience the best of the Red Centre with an exhilarating four-day adventure to four iconic destinations: Uluru, Kings Canyon, Kata Tjuta, and the West MacDonnell Ranges. This journey will take you on scenic hikes, refreshing swims in natural waterholes, and breathtaking sunset viewings that you’ll never forget.

Day One (lunch & dinner)

The tour starts in Alice Springs before heading towards Mt Connor lookout, also known as false Uluru. After taking a quick break at Curtin Springs, we’ll then proceed to Uluru for lunch. In the afternoon we call into the Indigenous Cultural Centre to learn more about the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park’s cultural significance.

Next, we head out on our first hike, exploring Uluru’s base walk. Starting towards Mutitjulu waterhole, admire the sacred rock art sites and learn the creation stories of Kuniya and Liru. Finally, we retreat to a tranquil spot for a front-row view of the incredible sunset over Uluru.

Day Two (breakfast, lunch & dinner)

After an early breakfast, we head to the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park for a breathtaking sunrise at Kata Tjuta. We then embark on a hike through the Valley of the Winds or Walpa Gorge for more amazing views of the unique rock formations. After exploring Kata Tjuta, we head towards the Kings Canyon region. Set up camp then witness another magical sunset and enjoy dinner around the campfire.

Day Three (breakfast, lunch & dinner)

Rise and shine early on day three and get ready to explore the imposing Kings Canyon (Watarrka). We’ll immerse ourselves in the ancient landscape and sacred grounds of the Ulpanyali and Lilla people as we explore the area on foot. We hike through the canyon and take in the unforgettable views of sandstone chasms. In the afternoon we head north to the West MacDonnell Ranges, where we settle in for an evening of stargazing.

Day Four (breakfast & lunch)

Our final day is spent exploring the impressive gorges and swimming holes of the West MacDonnell Ranges. We enjoy breakfast at Standley Chasm, observing the native wildlife. Next up is Ellery Creek Bighole, where you can take a dip in the refreshing water surrounded by tall red cliffs. We’ll visit Ormiston Gorge to admire nature at its finest before making a final stop at Simpsons Gap. The tour ends in Alice Springs, leaving you to reflect on your four-day adventure and the new friends you’ve made.
