7 Day Alice Springs to Darwin Tour with Uluru Detour $910

7 Day Alice Springs to Darwin with Uluru tour Itinerary

Discover the secrets of Australia, swim in hot springs, stand in the shadow of Uluru and sleep beneath the stars with our Alice Springs to Darwin Tour. On this seven-day mesmerizing adventure, you will embrace the sights and sounds that make the road from Alice Springs to Darwin so unique. This tour from the heart of Australia’s Red Centre to the Top End is the ultimate package that allows you to embrace the beauty of the desert and catch a rare glimpse of the rich cultural heritage of the outback.

Day One (lunch & dinner)

Your guide will pick you up from your accommodation around 5:00am and we begin our outback journey to Uluru, stopping at a camel farm on the way. After lunch, we enjoy a visit to the Aboriginal Cultural Centre where you can learn all about the Anangu People and even pick up local art and crafts to take home. We will enjoy a guided interpretive walk of the base of Uluru before heading off to watch sunset. Watching the sunset burst into colour over the famous Ayers Rock aka Uluru is a breath-taking moment as you witness the burnt orange, lavender streaks and blood reds filter into the landscape. To add to your experience, we will provide a glass of bubbly and some nibbles. Then it’s back to our camp to enjoy a hearty meal, a hot shower and a night under the stars.

Day Two (breakfast, lunch & dinner)

The tour continues with an early breakfast, before watching the sunrise over Uluru. Get ready for a morning hike through the magnificent Valley Of The Winds at Kata Tjuta. The challenging climb, the ethereal vision of the rising red domes and the Dreamtime stories woven into the world around you is a truly unique experience. After lunch, we head to Kings Creek Station viewing the beautiful George Gill Range along the way. Here we enjoy an outback dinner and laughs around the campfire, before retreating for another night under the stars.

Day Three (breakfast & lunch)

Today it’s time to see the rosy red delights of Kings Canyon where you can spend the day hiking the north and south walls. The rising splendour of the sandstone cliffs, the valley littered with lush greenery and the inspiring stories of myth and magic will make Kings Canyon come to life. After this amazing morning, we hit the road for our journey back to Alice Springs.

Day Four

Enjoy a free day in Alice Springs to explore the city or relax before the next tour leg. The desert city offers plenty for travellers including art galleries and wildlife parks, or take a tour to the surrounding MacDonnell Ranges. Be sure to get a good night’s rest as we will be up early on day five to begin our journey north to Darwin.

Day Five (lunch & dinner)

Day five starts with a sunrise pick up from Alice Springs before being whisked away to the Devils Marbles for a fabulous photo opportunity in the shallow valley. The Devils Marbles are huge mysterious granite boulders, precariously balanced and scattered across the golden landscape. The journey continues to Banka Banka Cattle Station where we bed down to sleep under the stars for the night.

Day Six (breakfast, lunch & dinner)

We depart Banka Banka and head for the iconic Daly Waters Pub, a historical place for drovers and travellers to grab a beer. Next, it’s time to soothe your soul and let the aches and pains of travelling simply melt away at the Mataranka Hot Springs. The thermal pools are spring-fed and constantly steaming at a delicious 34 degrees Celsius. Submerged in the natural pool you can gaze in wonder at the dappled light streaming through the forest and even catch glimpse of the red flying fox darting from branch to branch. Once suitably refreshed and relaxed, we head to Katherine where we will spend our final night camping.

Day Seven (breakfast & lunch)

We spend our last day enjoying the astonishing natural scenery of Nitmiluk National Park aka Katherine Gorge. Here the waters of the Katherine River have cut through the sandstone over thousands of years to create an impressive gorge with towering sandstone walls. Explore the river with a boat tour or hire a kayak before we jump on the bus for our final leg to Darwin.
